Orders on Court Operations, In-Court Hearings and Out-of Court Hearings in Response to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

      UPDATED WEDNESDAY, MAY 13, 2020

The United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire has entered a new Standing Order (20-17) extending the continuance of jury trials, grand jury proceedings, mediations, and non-court related events until July 1, 2020. During this time, the court will continue to conduct civil and criminal hearings by videoconference and telephonic hearings (20-7; 20-12) or by in-court hearings (20-6) in the discretion of the presiding judge.

The Rudman Courthouse will remain closed to the public except on days when the court conducts in-court hearings and the clerk’s office remains closed to the public until further notice. Please note that even when the Rudman Courthouse is physically closed to the public, the judges and court staff are working full time on the cases pending before this court. All court employees will telework, process court filings, issue orders and judgments, schedule hearings and conferences, and be available to answer telephone calls and emails from the public and bar.

Attorneys and pro se parties may continue to file documents with the court electronically through CM/ECF, or in paper by using the court's outside filing depository behind the Cleveland Federal Building.? Please note that due to the challenges presented to the public by COVID-19, the court will also allow attorneys and pro se parties to submit paper filings electronically by email to a dedicated email address (20-11).

For more information on court operations, please visit the court's COVID-19 webpage.? All Standing Orders are also available by clicking on Case Management on the menu bar, selecting "Rules & Orders" on the flyout menu, then clicking on the "Orders" link.
